As momentum grows for Indyref 2, a new poll has shown overwhelming public support for the same question to be used as 2014: ‘Should Scotland become an independent country?' The results are the first to be released from a new large-scale poll conducted by Survation for Progress Scotland.

I am English by birth but have lived in Scotland for 30+ years - well over half my life. I voted No in 2014 broadly because at that time Scotland was part of two wider communities - the UK and the EU and independence felt isolationist from that perspective and Scotland's subsequent indefinite exclusion from the EU seemed a very real probability.

I was an active member of the Labour Party and voted No in 2014. I also did some campaigning during the referendum for Better Together. I was never really against independence, but I just wasn't convinced by the Yes campaign and the currency plan.
