MY DOUBTS STARTED WHEN LIB DEMS WENT INTO COALITION WITH THE TORIES
Until the EU referendum I supported the Liberal Democrats for the constituency work they did which affected me personally. My doubts started in 2010 when the Liberal Democrats entered the coalition with the Conservative Party.
I felt this to be a betrayal of the policies which they stood for.
At the time of the Independence referendum I stuck with them and their recommendation to Vote No - despite my doubts.
I see myself as Scottish European much more than Scottish British and wish to remain in the EU.
Therefore, in the EU Referendum in 2016 I voted Remain and was very happy that Scotland made such an overwhelming statement to Remain. The fiasco that is Brexit was the last straw.
When the promise that the only way for Scotland to remain in the EU was shown to be a lie, I saw the only future for Scotland is - an independent nation within the EU.
I am now firmly in favour of an Independent Scotland.
