DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU THIS VOTE IS AGAINST THE ENGLISH
My wife and I moved up to Scotland from England in 2007 and I had voted Labour all my life. In the 2014 independence referendum I voted No and I have to admit that I didn't pay too much attention to politics at that time and depended much on the headlines for my information.
I was under the assumption that Scotland had to stay within the UK union in order to survive. How wrong could I be! Since that Brexit vote my attention has been mainly on nothing BUT politics.
I was horrified that England could make the decision to take another country out of a union, without their consent, which they themselves wanted to stay a part of. I have educated myself and done my own research. So much so, that for the first time in my life, at this age, my wife and I have joined a political party.
I will campaign for an independent Scotland with my Scottish cousins, who have accepted me, no questions asked. Don't let anyone tell you that this is a vote against the English. It has no bearing on England and people need to stop this toxic rhetoric.
The only people I hear saying this are those who are against independence. I fully intend to campaign with gusto to achieve this. England should try it, independence is normal.
Thank you, Scotland
